Unwinding, organizing, and becoming human again!

One week into vacation and I have been trying to relax!  I just can't seem to stop thinking about and wanting to prepare for the next school year.  I am totally addicted to Pinterest!!!  While reviewing and better organizing my previous pins, I also dug into my pockets and purchased a few new items.  Check out these finds:

My new magnetic pocket charts from Learning Resources
I plan on using these on my ELA focus wall to post key vocabulary, spelling words/patterns, etc.
I think I will be using one or two for my math focus walls as well.  Tune in at the end of the summer for pics of my focus wall.

Since I needed to switch rooms (again...)  I was moved into the old art room.  As you can imagine there is paint and "artistic" damage to the classroom.  To help cope with these unappealing sites I purchased a table skirt to Velcro in front of the hideous sink.

I also found this "Jungle Window" on my search for the grass table skirt.  My classroom is positioned right near the playground this year.  I am hoping to be able to use this to block out the outdoor activities and keep the kiddos focused on their work.

You can find the grass skirt and "Jungle Window" at PartyBell.com

Sorry that the pictures are sideways...still trying to figure out this blog thing:)

Here are a few things I have actually managed to do for relaxation...
1.  I took my family to see Monsters University...so cute, but I miss Boo.
2.  Booked my NYC vacation with the hubby!
3.  Read a book for pleasure.

Ahhhh, summer... a time to unwind, organize, and become human again!

  2. Welcome to the blogging world! You're off to a great start. I look forward to reading about your great ideas. Let me know how the window thing works. I'm right next to the playground door and understand the distraction. I believe you need to make sure your pictures are rotated before placing them in your blog.
